Beaverton
Thorah Eldon Historical Society's purpose is to
collect, research, interpret and preserve artifacts and information
that illustrate the founding, settlement and development of the
Village of Beaverton and the Townships of Thorah and Eldon.

We hold monthly meetings with interesting
speakers and provide displays, tours, programs and special events
for the public, schools and interested groups. In our archives
we help individuals or students to research local history or family
genealogy. The Historical
Society has published "The Beaverton Story, Harvest
of Dreams" and "Continuing Dreams, The Second Beaverton Story".
We have also created videos, DVD's, CD's and PowerPoint
presentations which bring to live local history, preserve the
memories of
seniors
and provide armchair walking tours of our area. We operate the
Beaver River Museum - an old stone jail, log farmhouse and
workingman's house that depict the lifestyle of the early setters
and townspeople of our community.
